The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic returns to Snowmass March 27 through April 3, 2027. Co-presented by VA and DAV, the clinic has run for close to four decades and reaches roughly 400 Veterans with significant disabilities each year, which is why VA calls it a world leader in rehabilitation. Adaptive skiing is the core of the week, taught by world-class instructors who build the instruction around each participant's own capabilities, and the program has introduced dozens of Veterans to Paralympic competition. Qualifying disabilities listed by the clinic are spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic amputations, visual impairments, and CVA with residual effects. VA opened the 2027 application window on August 1, 2026; check wintersportsclinic.org for whether it is still open and for the full participant requirements before you plan a trip. The clinic also depends on a corps of more than 700 volunteers, and volunteer applications run through the same site.
