National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic 2027 — Iowa City Area

Flyer for National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic 2027 — Iowa City Area
The National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic runs Sunday, September 12 through Friday, September 17, 2027, hosted by the Iowa City VA Health Care System with more than 400 VA and community volunteers. It is a week-long adaptive golf and rehabilitation program presented by VA and DAV (Disabled American Veterans), built to improve participants' physical, mental, and emotional well-being and to show that a visual impairment or physical disability is a conquerable obstacle to an active life. Alongside adaptive golf, Veterans are introduced to other adaptive recreation; past years have included chair yoga, cornhole, disc golf, kayaking, tai chi, and virtual reality offerings. The host site is the Riverside Hotel and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa, about 15 miles south of Iowa City, with golf at various courses and alternative activities at venues across the Iowa City area. Open to U.S. military Veterans who are enrolled in and eligible for VA care and have a qualifying disability — the clinic lists visual impairments, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, spinal cord injuries, and strokes among them. Participation is by application, and VA gives the 2027 application window as January 25 through March 5, 2027. Apply through veteransgolfclinic.org or the clinic office. Contact Nick Beelner, Director, at (319) 358-5963 or nicholas.beelner@va.gov, or John Kleindienst at DAV Voluntary Services on (859) 442-2056.
