Saranac Lake sits in the heart of the Adirondack Park, a village serving a vast and thinly populated region. The Saranac Lake VA Clinic at 33 Depot Street is a community-based outpatient clinic under the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, covering primary care, laboratory work, prescriptions, and mental health — including care for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction — for Veterans across Franklin County. The parent medical center in Albany is a long drive south, which is precisely why the local clinic, the Franklin County Veterans Service Agency, and the posts in between carry so much of the load up here.
