Submit Your EventPensacola has been a Navy town since 1825, when the Pensacola Navy Yard opened on the bay. Today NAS Pensacola trains every Naval Flight Officer and aviation maintainer in the fleet, NAS Whiting Field in nearby Milton flies more student sorties than almost any airfield in the country, and Corry Station runs the Center for Information Warfare Training. The Blue Angels call the field home, the National Naval Aviation Museum sits on it, and Barrancas National Cemetery lies just beyond the flight line. Around all of that is one of the largest concentrations of retired Service Members in the Southeast, spread across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
