Naval Station Great Lakes, on the Lake Michigan shore in North Chicago, is the Navy's largest training installation and the home of Recruit Training Command — the Navy's only boot camp. Alongside it sit the Training Support Center and the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, the first fully integrated VA and Department of War hospital in the country.
Navy MWR, the Fleet & Family Support Center, the base library, and the youth center run programming year-round for Sailors, Military Spouses, and Military Families. Most on-base events require a DoD ID or an escort — the listings below note eligibility where the organiser states it.
