The city is home to American Legion Post 25 and the Lawrence County Veterans Service Office, with regional VA care provided through the Huntsville VA CBOC and the Birmingham VA Medical Center. The Alabama National Guard, the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs, and active VFW and American Legion posts serve Veterans across Lawrence County and the broader Tennessee Valley region.
