Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, just north of the city, is the Navy's human resources center and home to Navy Recruiting Command, Navy Personnel Command, and the Navy Gold Star Program office that serves surviving families across the region. Memphis Veterans are served by the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center, the Memphis Vet Center, and a wide network of American Legion and VFW posts, riding groups, and Veteran nonprofits reaching across Shelby County and out into rural West Tennessee.
