The Hill City's military community is served by the Lynchburg VA Clinic, a community-based outpatient clinic of the Salem VA Health Care System, along with the Lynchburg Vet Center outstation, the Virginia Department of Veterans Services Lynchburg benefits office, and American Legion, VFW, and DAV posts across Amherst, Bedford, and Campbell counties. Liberty University's Office of Military Affairs and Central Virginia Community College both enroll large numbers of GI Bill students, and the National D-Day Memorial in nearby Bedford draws Veterans from across the region.
