Lexington sits at the heart of Kentucky's Bluegrass and is home to the Lexington VA Health Care System, with its Cooper Drive and Leestown Road campuses, the Lexington Vet Center, and a Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs field office. The city anchors a Veteran community that reaches across Fayette County and the surrounding Bluegrass counties, supported by active VFW and American Legion posts, the University of Kentucky's Veterans Resource Center, and a wide network of county Veterans service organizations.
