Laredo is a vibrant border city on the Rio Grande and home to a growing Veteran community. The city is served by the Laredo VA Clinic (part of the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System) and the Laredo Vet Center, which provides readjustment counseling and mental health services. Webb County Veterans Services and the Laredo Veterans Affairs Committee — representing ten Veterans organizations — coordinate support across the community.
Laredo's proximity to Nuevo Laredo and its large bilingual population make it a unique gateway for Veterans transitioning from military service and for those seeking Spanish-language VA support. Active American Legion and VFW posts serve Veterans across Webb County.
