Kansas City straddles the Missouri–Kansas line and anchors a metro of more than two million, with the Kansas City VA Medical Center on Linwood Boulevard at the center of Veteran care. Between the medical center, Jackson County Veteran services, a dense network of VSO posts, and Fort Leavenworth and Whiteman Air Force Base within the wider region, the metro carries one of the largest Veteran communities in the Midwest.
