Elizabethtown is the Hardin County seat and the civilian hub of the Fort Knox community, a short drive north of the post. Veterans and military families here are served by the Hardin County Veterans Services office, the Elizabethtown VA Clinic of the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce, whose workforce and small business programs reach transitioning Soldiers and Military Spouses across the county.
