Chelan sits at the foot of a fifty-mile glacial lake that reaches back into the North Cascades. There is no VA facility in town: the nearest is the Wenatchee Community Based Outpatient Clinic — the Elwood “Bud” Link clinic on Chester Kimm Road, under VA Spokane Health Care — about forty miles down the Columbia. That drive is the reality for Veterans across the upper valley, which is why Chelan County Veterans Services and the events listed here carry real weight locally.
