About This Initiative

Chattanooga is known as the birthplace of the Medal of Honor. The first medals were awarded to members of Andrews' Raiders for the April 1862 locomotive raid, the Chattanooga Campaign the following year produced dozens more, and the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center downtown tells that story; recipients including Desmond Doss rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The Chattanooga VA Clinic on Shallowford Road provides primary care, mental health, dental, audiology, and telehealth through the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, and the Pointe Centre VA Clinic adds optometry, compensation and pension exams, and an oncology and infusion center that spares patients the drive to Nashville. The Chattanooga Vet Center offers readjustment, PTSD, and military sexual trauma counseling, with counselors who hold hours at Chattanooga State and UTC for student Veterans, and the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services handles state benefits and claims.

This site is provided by Di Nola Consulting to assist Military Service Members, Veterans, and Military Spouses in discovering events, resources, opportunities, and their community throughout Chattanooga and the Tennessee Valley.

Whether you're transitioning out of service, looking for career opportunities, seeking health and wellness support, or simply want to connect with your community, you'll find it here.
