Akron anchors a Veteran community that reaches across Summit, Portage, Stark, and Wayne counties. The Akron VA Clinic on West Waterloo Road, the Akron Community Resource & Referral Center on East Voris Street, and the county Veterans Service Commissions put benefits help, health care, and housing support within a short drive of most of the region. Alongside them, American Legion and VFW posts, the Marine Corps League, and Veteran-led nonprofits such as Alpha 11 Veterans Logistics run the roundtables, resource fairs, and coffee gatherings that make up much of the calendar here.
Everything listed on this page is open to Service Members, Veterans, Military Spouses and partners, and Military Families, whether you have lived here for decades or are just arriving. Where an event has its own eligibility rules or needs a military ID, the listing says so.
