Submit Your EventFort Hood sits in Central Texas beside Killeen and is home to III Armored Corps, the 1st Cavalry Division, and Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. The post was renamed Fort Cavazos in 2023 and redesignated Fort Hood again in June 2025, this time honoring Col. Robert B. Hood, a World War I artillery officer awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. Both names still circulate on post, so both appear in listings here. Events listed here take place on post — the USO center, the National Mounted Warrior Museum, unit and MWR facilities — so base access rules apply, and most need a DoD ID, a sponsor, or a visitor pass. Events in Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Harker Heights are listed under the Killeen hub.
