Submit Your EventCorydon is Indiana's first state capital and the seat of Harrison County — a town whose history runs straight through the American military story, from the 1816 statehouse on the square to the Battle of Corydon site, where the only pitched Civil War battle fought on Indiana soil took place in July 1863. Today its Veteran community is served by the Harrison County Veterans Service Office on Atwood Street, which runs a DAV van program to VA medical appointments, and by the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, about 25 miles east.
