Together with Marine Corps Air Station New River, the base anchors one of the largest concentrations of Marines and Marine families in the country, served by Marine Corps Community Services, Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, the Camp Lejeune USO, and a deep bench of VSO posts throughout Jacksonville, Sneads Ferry, Swansboro, Hubert, and the rest of Onslow County.
