Submit Your EventGalveston is a barrier-island city on the Texas Gulf Coast with a long military history — Fort Crockett guarded the approach to Galveston Bay through both World Wars, and the island is still home to U.S. Coast Guard Base Galveston, part of Sector Houston-Galveston. Service Members, Veterans, and Military Spouses across Galveston County are served by the Galveston VA Clinic, the county Veteran Services Office in Texas City, and a network of VFW and American Legion posts on the island and up the mainland through Dickinson, La Marque, Texas City and League City.
