Submit Your EventBangor sits on the Penobscot River in eastern Maine — the seat of Penobscot County and home to the 101st Air Refueling Wing of the Maine Air National Guard at Bangor Air National Guard Base, and to the Maine Troop Greeters, who have met arriving and departing troops at Bangor International Airport since 2003. The area is served by the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services, the Bangor VA clinic and Vet Center under VA Maine Healthcare System (Togus), and active American Legion and VFW posts across the Penobscot Valley.
